How size parts can you cut?We can cut parts up to 24" by 48" on our 50 watt laser, and up to 18" x 32" on our 25 watt laser. Our 50 is best suited for cutting, while our 25 watt laser can do light cutting and excels at engraving. Back to Top
What kind of material can you cut and how thick?We can cut non metallic materials, including balsa up to 3/8" thick, aircraft (birch) plywood up to 3/32" thick (!/8" slowly), light ply (poplar ply) up to 1/4" thick, soft and hardwoods up to 1/4" thick, acrylic up to 1/4" thick, polyester (Mylar), elastomers, foam pad such as Poron, PET-G, thin polystyrene. What kind of files or artwork can you use for cutting?We can use DXF, Autocad, DesignCad, Corel (V9 and earlier), hand drawings, blueprints cocktail napkins, handsketches. If you don't see your file type listed, contact us. We can usually figure out a way to import the file. Please be sure to include permission from the copyright owner if you want parts for copyrighted designs. Back to Top
What kind of files or artwork can you use for engraving?We can use hand sketches, photographs (JPEG's preferred), CorelDraw, Corel Photopaint, or any of the file formats listed for Cutting. What is a "short kit" and what parts are included in a kit?Our kits for plans services are all short kits. This means that they only include the laser cut parts such as wing ribs, bulkheads, fuselage sides, etc. They don't include sticks, sheeting, cowls, landing gear, etc. necessary to complete the model. What kind of material can you engrave?The list is long and sometimes only limited by your imagination. Our engraving division, LaserPlaques.com has many great samples on display. We have done wood, anodized aluminum, plastics, acrylic, painted acrylic, marble (photos look great on this!), tools (we can personalize your tools!), even paper!, Other materials include ceramic tiles (we're looking at supplying custom engraved tiles to tile wholesalers in our area-stay tuned!), leather, baseball bats (check out our specialty division LaserBats.com for this) Back to Top
